Republic School District families and employees,

We are writing to let you know we are closely monitoring the forecast as winter weather is expected to impact our area over the weekend.

This message is to serve as a reminder to make alternative childcare plans in case in-person school is not able to take place on Monday, January 26.

There have already been several changes for RMS and RHS athletics and activities scheduled this weekend in preparation for winter weather. View those on the RepMO Athletics Facebook page. Coaches and sponsors will communicate directly with families regarding any other updates or adjustments.

We will be sending Chromebooks home with all students today in the event that we need to implement an Alternate Method of Instruction (AMI) Day next week, also known as virtual learning. Click here for more information about our school cancellation procedures, including virtual learning details.

As a reminder, the decision to close or alter school will be made as early as possible, in partnership with local weather experts. If we have a virtual learning day or a traditional snow day, messages are typically sent by 5:30 a.m. As previously communicated, if needed, we will notify families and employees using the following methods:

  • Phone call
  • Text message
  • Social media
  • Website
  • News media

We will only communicate schedule changes and will not send automated phone calls or text messages if classes are going to be held as normal.

As long as we feel it is safe for our employees and there are enough staff members available, childcare through STRIPES 360 (Winter Escape) may be available during winter weather closures for K-6 students. Click here to pre-register and to learn more.

Should there be additional information regarding the winter weather impact on our schools, it will be shared with you when available.
