This Staff Communicator e-newsletter is sponsored by:
Republic School District employees,
We hope you've had a GREAT first week of school!
As a reminder, the Staff Communicator e-newsletter will be distributed each Thursday that school is in session, as well as once in June and once in July. It may also be distributed as needed throughout the year. Archives can be found here.
As a district, we are continuing a practice we believe will help us in our commitments to continuous improvement and taking care of each other. It’s called "rounding."
"Rounding" is so much more than just "making the rounds." The purpose of rounding conversations is to engage with employees at a deeper level and listen to what is going well and what could be improved. Summaries from these interactions will be shared so that all schools and departments have alignment and knowledge of employee feedback and the district's action steps.
Throughout the year, you may receive a calendar invite from your building/department leader, or even a Central Office administrator, to engage in a brief rounding conversation. It's important to note that these are NOT evaluations, but are instead intended as check-ins to find out what our staff members need in order to be successful and feel supported.
During "rounding," leaders will ask questions similar to the following:
What is working well?
What are your ideas for improvement? OR How can I be more helpful to you as a leader?
Do you have the resources you need? OR What barriers are you facing?
Is there anyone who has been especially helpful to you lately?
We appreciate your participation and value your perspective. We are excited to see where this effort takes us as a district!

The Republic Community Foundation is seeking grant applications. Below is the description. Visit https://www.grantinterface.com/Process/Apply?urlkey=cfozarksgrants to apply (14th one down).
The Republic Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Republic area through thoughtful grantmaking and community leadership. The Republic Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, chosen for their knowledge of the area. Grant decisions are made by the grant committee. The unique role of a community foundation is to conduct a flexible community grantmaking program which addresses the most important needs of the community at any one time. The flexibility this requires is made possible by charitable donors who established unrestricted or field-of-interest funds and place the decision-making in the hands of the community leaders serving on our Board of Directors as well as dollars raised by the Republic Community Foundation.
Grant proposals are accepted according to an announced time table, and grant recommendations are made as funds are available.
501(c)3 organizations or other IRS-approved entities (government entities, school districts and churches) serving the Republic area are eligible to apply.
Applicants who serve the Republic area are encouraged to apply.
Applicants may apply for up to $3,500 in funding for this grant cycle.
Contact Britny Fulks or Alexandria Holmes with questions about this grant program.
Contact Emily Brittain with questions about the application process or with technical questions (417-864-6199).

Our district's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan includes a focus on overall wellness for our students and staff. Through that effort, our Staff Wellness Facilitator, Nancy Leonard, creates a internal, digital wellness newsletter each month, which will be shared in weekly Staff Communicator emails. We hope this will support all of our teammates on their wellness journey!
